My Dad Joe couldn't make the show at last minute! :(

A great night of punk headlined by Watford's finest My Dad Joe, with support from Wales’ Stupid Brick who were originally lined up for the MusicZombie punk all dayer, but who’s car died and couldn’t make it! And also with 3-piece punk/ska rockers My Audio Heroes hailing from Wellingborough opening the evening!

My Dad Joe have completed four tours, most recently as headliners, that have seen them play down south all the way up to Scotland including every main city in England and Wales. At shows the band are widely recognized as one of the most energetic acts around with their feet barely touching the floor for more than a second. This live appeal along with their thoughtful, melodic punk rock tunes have earned the band a strong following not only in the UK but abroad too thanks to mp3.com. My Dad Joe have received Radio 1 airplay on Mike Davies show The Lock Up, been guests on Total Rock Radio and have featured in the Total Rock Revolution on The Storm Radio. This airplay has also contributed to widening their audience throughout the country. My Dad Joe have proved they can certainly hold their own and manage to fit in on any description of bills, most recently supporting hardcore legends 25 Ta Life at the Camden underworld.

Now the band have recorded their debut album high goals have been set. The band looks forward to pushing themselves as much as they can and hope to see you at this show!

Bio

STUPIDBRICK are a 4 piece skate punk rock band from Bridgend, South Wales. Formed in '97, we haven't played with anyone significant and will never make it in the big time. We recently lost our original singer of 4 years due to his sudden sex change and move to Australia to pursue a career in transsexual animal porn movies.

We scoured the gutters of the valleys, far and wide, eventually finding ourselves a true gladiator in Adam Davies. Winning the official Under 14's Gladiators (!!!) title, he has served us well and even though he can't sing, we can't fault his commitment to the band.

DragonNinja.co.uk :: Chemical Reaction, Pete's Sake, and STUPIDBRICK ...
Petes Sake had already started when I arrived, but still I still managed to catch some of their classic punk / emo crowd pleasers as well as wicked new material by the band, delivered in an energetic performance. The surprisingly large crowd eventually gave in to the dance floor and were wound up for the next band, STUPIDBRICK. STUPIDBRICK wowed the crowd with their energetic style of skate punk. The fast and energetic style of their songs whipped the crowd into a circular pit frenzy, introducing the first crowd surfers of the night and leaving the audience itching for more. Next, was Chemical Reaction, kicking straight into their smooth, classy blend of ska, punk and reggae, playing a combination of class CR songs and brand new tracks from their new CD. The crowd went wild for the sound of 'message to rudy' by the specials and nutty cover of 'animal hospital' too. Wicked stuff ... what a night!!!

bbc.co.uk :: STUPIDBRICK ...
Friends of Chemical Reaction and fellow skate punkers, STUPIDBRICK play their brand of punk exceptionally fast. Keeping the skate punk spirit alive, their eight track demo is packed full of bursting, youthful, hi-nrg guitar thrash. Featured here is the cutely written 'Stuck in the middle', all about trying to find a girl who used to stroke the writer's head (yes, that's right it reads "head").

STUPIDBRICK, Nub, etc ...
... Finally, STUPIDBRICK played. They were meant to play 2nd on the bill, but with such a huge crowd who came to see them, they made their presence known later on in the night. Previously known as Missing Something Stupid, STUPIDBRICK showed the same talent as they did under their different name - only the singer looks bald now!!! The crowd love this band, and it's easy to see why. Their set comprises of so many punk influences, ranging from hardcore to the metal, and is incredibly easy to listen to - Fantastic!.
